Yes, sorry, I've been absent again. I have really not had any inspiration as of late. Which is weird with two of the most beautfiul children in the world. :P But, I have managed to make my first self made scrap kit in one of the challenges at theStudio! Lo and behold!

I've finally learned functions in GIMP (which is what I use instead of PS) that I've been searching after for ages! :P You like?

I will hopefully be back with a QP and background to coordinate with the kit. :) And with a kit for the October Color Challenge as well. We'll see. :) And I also have a new desktop wallpaper in the works.

I was making a new background for one of my other blogs, and was so happy with it that I had to make another version of it to share with you. August is here, and soon it's autumn again. This background has rich warm colours to keep you warm when the nights gets darker. :)

Introducing a New Designer

Another scrapdesigner has been kind enough to let me use her great scrap kit for designing backgrounds! Delicious scraps has a lot of great material and awesome kits to use for every occasion! Head over there and grab some freebies, or buy stuff really cheap in her shop!

I have updated all old backgrounds with the new tag that goes in the bottom of the blogpage (or where ever you put the html-gadget) instead of in the left hand corner which doesn't work in blogger's new designs.

Desktop Calender for February

I've tried to make a Calender for the first time. It wasn't easy, let me tell you, to get all the dates lined up, but eventually I think I got it quite right.

I have used Lost and Taken's Vintage Wallpaper texture and all the embellishments come from Gunhild. I've made it a quickpage in two sizes. This is how it looks with pictures of one of my favourit couples Tom and Jane.

Three New Backgrounds

I have been playing around a little bit with a great brush set from Daintyish at Deviant Art. She has a lot of other great brushes. These are damask parts so you can make your own. Which I of course had to try out. The bottom paper is from Gunhild, who unfortonately for us has stopped making her great freebies. The New Template Designer Function in Blogger

I don't know if you have noticed that blogger has upgraded their template designer. You can now make a lot of changes yourself, lots of different patterns, background images and so on. Very good for those of you who still want a personalized blog, but doesn't want to play around with CSS and HTML or make your own backgrounds.

Good news is that you can still use my backgrounds even if you do have chosen one of the new templates. If you have the old one (minima), you can still make changes in the template without messing with the background. After you have chosen your preferred background and pasted the code into a HTML-gadget, follow these steps:

Minima (no real changes):
In the template designer, the only place where you would make changes is in the "advanced" selection, here you can change lots of things, such as the page background colour, text colour and other stuff. Make sure you have ticked the transparent box on the background colour.

When you are satisfied, click apply to blog and then back to blogger.

If you want to use a new blogger template
You can still use my backgrounds if you want to use one of the new templates. It is a bit trickier of course, since my backgrounds are mainly made for a 2 column layout and are not as wide as the widest you can chose in blogger's designer. I suggest you pick one design you like and then do the following steps:

1. Choose your prefered template

2. On background, click remove image (you may have to click on the little arrow to get the images first, to be able to click om remove image).

3. Choose your layout.

On this tab you can choose how wide you want your blog to be too. You may want to go back to this step when you have gone to the advance (see above) and clicked transparent on all the background colours to see how it fits with the background you have picked from me.

4. Advanced settings (see above)
5. Hit apply to blog when you are satisfied with your changes.

I do not know how this actually works with my custom headers, when I have tried it doesn't seem to fit right away, and I guess it takes a bit of fiddeling to get that right. I will get back to you on how to make it work. In the meantime, we will have to make due without them. :P

I'm so sorry for not having updated in a while. Life kind of got in the way. And then with Bloggers new design choices, I realise I have to update my tutorials on how to use my backgrounds... And on top of that, my supplier of freebies, Brenda from CuddleBeez Scraps has decided to take a break from designing, that was a hard blow. I suggest go head over there right now and get her last freebies! :) They are as awesome as always!

Here's a new wallpaper for you. This time I have really done most work myself. I got the background from Lost and Taken, a great resource site for all designers and artists. Ok, so I don't know how many there is out there who are using my bakgrounds, but still... I hope there is a few anyways. I have a quick question for you. CuddleBeez Scraps has just published a series of wintery papers and stuff. I just couldn't help myself! It is November anyways... I had to make some backgrounds for you! :) This first one is probably best those of you who have a large screen. I think it's very, very cute, though. :)

I was so happy to find a new "supplier" of freebies that are okay to use for free background making. :) Oh happy day! Our friend's son got baptised yesterday. I just had to do something with the pictures! The writing is of cours in Swedish. But to translate a bit for you, the first one is in memory of the day, text with what the names' meaning. In the second there is the lyrics to one of the hymns we sang. It's, roughly translated, called Don't you know you're precious.

Easy Peasy Update

After a few hours of lurking around other background sites I've managed to get hold of a code that makes everything so much easier to use the backgrounds in your blog. You still need to have the minima template on your blog, go to layout and click 'add gadget', scroll down to the one named 'HTML/javascript' and add that one. In the window that now opens paste in this code:
